Q: What is your policy on Freebie Points:
A: Characters have 5 Freebie points at character creation. There are no allowed ways to gain more. We only allow Flaws/Negative Traits etc if the player agrees not to take the points given by them.
Q: What time line is the game in?
A: The game is set in the modern nights. However this is Pre-Week of Nightmares.
Q: Where and when does your game take place?
A: On the campus of UNC Charlotte from 4:00pm to 10:00pm. More information can be gained by e-mailing us at griffinclawsts@yahoo.com
Q: Can I bring in a character I played in another vampire game?
A: Yes but you have to rebuild it as a starting character.
Q: Is this a Camarilla sanctioned LARP?
A: Nope. This is an independtly run LARP.
Q: How much does it cost to play in this LARP?
A: Nothing. It's free to players.
Q: Is there anyway I can play a Garou/Changeling/Mage/Wraith/Etc?
A: I hear there are lots of other nice LARPs around for that. But not in ours.
Q: How often does your game run?
A: Every other Sunday.
Q: Who does your website?
A: The incredibly talented Mr. Neil Efird.
Q: Hey your game sucks! I could run a better one!
A: I doubt it. But go ahead and try.
Basic explanation of traits and game mechanics. There was some
confusion last game and hopefully this will clarify a little.
Attributes are traits that define your character and what they'd be
good at. It doesn't necessarily allow them to do anything they
normally wouldn't be able to though. When you make a challenge you
bid traits appropriate for the challenge. Such as "I'm Quick enough
to run way" or "I'm Seductive enough to get you to sleep with me."
You need a trait that would work for each challenge. You can't
say "I'm Quick enough to smash that boulder" for example or "I'm
Patient enough to see the ninja hiding behind the tree." Abilities
will let you retest a failed challenge. This represents your
character is good at certain things.
If you don't have certain abilities then you can't even attempt some
actions like hacking into a computer for example. If you lose a
challenge you lose the trait you bid. If you retest it then you spend
the ability and make another test WITHOUT the trait you just lost
in case of a tie. If you lose the second test you lose another trait in
addition to the first one. If you win then you STILL lose the original
trait but you win the challenge. Disciplines are the supernatural
abilities that allow you to do otherwise impossible things such as
become invisible or see through the invisibility of another. Yes I'm
sure about all this.
Influence now costs 1 exp to buy! However it must be explained how it's being expanded. Also, and
this is a biggie, we've mapped just how much influence is in the
city. There's only so much Underworld, so much University, etc. Once
these limits are filled then they can't be bought anymore unless the
influence is expanded in game or some rivals lose theirs...... We're
hoping this will add an extra element to the game. Also note that
Influence can be given to another player and traded amongst players.
Generally to pay off boons.
Influence: If you get your sheet and you see something like this
Health x 2 (1)
The bit in the parenthesis is what you cannot use for some reason or another.
If you initiated something then you know, if not you might want to reasearch to
find out what is going on. We don't give info out for free, but if you attempt
to figure it out by using the right method then we are easy.
Also if you get your sheet and you see Health x 2 (destroyed 1)
The amount destroyed is gone and will be removed on the next sheet you get and
cannot be use that game. This can happen for several reasons, the major one is
that someone attacked you influence and destroyed it. Yes you can loose
something you spent XP on and you will most likely be doing this very thing to
someone at some point. Once an influence trait is destroyed it is up to be
purchased in the influence pool but the destroyer does have first dibs on it.
An attack on influence can only destroy one trait at any time and if you wish
to attack the same person you much research again as you have destroyed that
particular influence path of theirs.
There are no explosives, heavy artillery, gatlin guns, heavy mounted
machine guns, rocket launchers, missles, helicopters, tanks, or
flamethrowers in the game. No characters have access to that kinda
stuff, no character is EVER going to get that kind of stuff.
Now it's possible someone or maybe even multiple someones told you
different. That's why the Head ST is saying it now: It aint happening.
If you got this kinda stuff somehow....it doesn't work(damn shitty
Russian manufacturing.)
On the lighter side this kinda stuff isn't going to come after
you....ever. Fear not the rocket launcher, fear the crossbow. You
don't need flamethrowers to hunt creatures that a sharp stick will
take down.
